Rich in a biodiversity that is unique in the world, it is not unusual in Madagascar to discover unique and little-known trees: this is the case with Mokarana. This endemic species, which grows up to 6 meters high, hides small green buds under its broad leaves where bees come to forage.

With light acidic citrus tones, Mokarana honey is sweet and unctuous. It is mainly enjoyed for breakfast, but is also excellent as a seafood marinade.

The wide leaves, 60 cm long, are the particularity of this tropical and endemic 3-meter-high tree. The flowering season begins in October for harvesting in November.
